Description

This pale yellow coloured wine shows off the terroir of the vineyards and has a very pleasant and balanced fruited aroma with mineral notes. It exhibits great volume in the mouth with a long and persistent finish. This wine presents a fine gastronomic profile. A very fine example of both Vinho Verde and the Alvarinho grape.

Vinification

Produced from carefully selected grapes in the best land plots of the Quinta da Calçada. The grape variety of Alvarinho was de-stemmed and gently pressed. The extracted juice is decanted in a static process. Then it has its fermentation in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature over two weeks.

Robert Parker gave this wine 90 pts in his review. Quinta da Calçada Alvarinho is citrus yellow in colour with a greenish tinge, and an intense but balanced aroma of tropical fruits, with slight vegetal notes. In the mouth it is very fresh with good volume and a long, persistent finish.
