Cask 001 is where their journey began, In 2006, Cask 001 was the first of only 29 casks hand filled by Founder James Nelstrop and its unlike anything else in the world.
This cask holds a truly special place in history. Not only is it the inaugural production, but it also marks the first cask produced by a licensed whisky distillery in England in over a century.
Over the last 18 years, this whisky has remained at the distillery being disturbed just twice, once to be transferred into a single sherry cask and a second time when it was returned to its original American standard barrel.
Unpeated, bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill filtered, and with no added colour, it is an authentic expression of the origins of The English.

Wonderful aromas of vanilla, caramelised sugar with hints of sandalwood & ginger.
Sipped neat, the palate gives oodles of caramel & stewed apples; a dash of water brings out more fruit and vanilla custard, followed by a long, full-bodied finish with notes of brown sugar and dry wood spice.
