Producer Information
Baron Edmond de Rothschild - Flechas de los Andes winery is nestled at the foot of the commanding Andes mountains in Argentina. Originally a fruitless desert, the area was meticulously crafted into a fertile vineyard under the joint venture of the Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault families when their partnership was forged in 1999, and their inaugural malbec was released in 2002, offering a rich, complex flavour that paid homage to both the French heritage and Argentine setting.
The blend of volcanic rock and desert sand combined with irrigation provided by the snow of the Andes, and a sun-drenched daytime landscape give these wines their true character.
Aguaribay Malbec is produced from a 100ha vineyard and named after the tree that grows in and protects the vineyard, the Aguaribay Malbec completes a trio of three wines created from this vineyard, and represents a single varietal blend of Malbec.
Production Information
Grapes are grown at 1100 meters above sea level, leading to a concentration of flavour.
Hand-picked and hand-selected, the grapes are destemmed before a 20-day malolactic fermentation and ageing for 12 months, with 40% of the wine aged in new and second-fill French oak, the rest settled in stainless steel.
