The area of Portugal south and east of Lisbon known as the Tejo region is where this wine comes from. It's a region that's long been overlooked, but has the ability to produce excellent value, well made wines as this ripe and well rounded example shows. Made from an indigenous Portuguese blend of Castelão, Trincadeira and Miúda it has soft red cherry fruit flavours that combine well with ripe gamey and spicy hints. With mellow tannins it has a nicely rounded feel in the mouth.
