TASTING NOTE
Golden-straw hue with aromas of chamomile, peach and dried apricot, layered with
pineapple, papaya and a touch of white pepper. The palate is fresh, mineral and long,
finishing on exotic fruit and herbs.
PRODUCER
Etérea Kripan is the project of Melanie Hickman and David Sampedro in Rioja Alavesa,
rooted in biodynamic farming and a fierce respect for old vines. Working steep,
often hidden vineyards by horse and hand, they focus on single parcels and rare
varieties, rescuing forgotten plots and giving them new voice. Every wine is small-scale,
low-intervention, and deeply site-specific — Rioja seen through a lens of purity,
freshness and soulful craft.
VINEYARD INFORMATION
ld vines of Viura, Malvasía and Garnacha Blanca in limestone parcels of Carrakripan,
El Soto and Barrera (Rioja Alavesa). High altitude, breezy exposures and biodynamic
farming yield low yields and striking minerality.
VINIFICATION
Half the fruit pressed direct, half macerated on skins for texture. Native yeast
fermentation; aged one year in large foudre, then 18 months in 500L French oak. Minimal
fining, careful sulphur.
75% Viura, 15% Malvasia bianca, 5% Garnacha Blanca
