TASTING NOTE
Fragrant and high-energy, showing redcurrant, pomegranate and black cherry with
fresh eucalyptus and violet. Crushed rock minerality underpins a tense, lively palate
with juicy acidity and subtle cocoa depth.
PRODUCER
Etérea Kripan is the project of Melanie Hickman and David Sampedro in Rioja Alavesa,
rooted in biodynamic farming and a fierce respect for old vines. Working steep,
often hidden vineyards by horse and hand, they focus on single parcels and rare
varieties, rescuing forgotten plots and giving them new voice. Every wine is small-scale,
low-intervention, and deeply site-specific — Rioja seen through a lens of purity,
freshness and soulful craft.
VINEYARD INFORMATION
Sourced from biodynamically farmed Graciano vineyards at 600 m in Rioja Alavesa.
Altitude brings freshness and aromatic lift, while limestone soils add structure and
mineral definition.
VINIFICATION
Hand-harvested and fermented in concrete to preserve varietal purity. Native yeasts
lead a natural fermentation; minimal intervention keeps focus on fruit and structure.
Short maturation enhances freshness and finesse.
PAIRING DESCRIPTION
Delicious with chuletillas al sarmiento or grilled lamb brushed with rosemary. Also
excellent lightly chilled with spiced charcuterie on a warm evening.
