Cecco is a red wine from Barbera, Bonarda and Cabernet grape varieties, a wine born and grown in Piacenza.

"Cecco made us to choose to depart from the traditional norms: it is a revolutionary wine linked to the past but projected into the future. Its label is genuine, unpretentious and with no decorations, as we inhabitants of Piacenza like to be. When you pour it into the glass, it tells you every single detail of Piacenza and the Val Trebbia."

Manual harvest in crates. One part of the grapes is late harvested to ensure the bunches a higher sugar and aromatic ripeness, before a long skin contact maceration at a controlled temperature. Wine is then aged in French oak barriques for about 12 months using new woods for the portion of wine obtained from overripe grapes. After ageing is completed, a short maturation in a steel vat is carried out before bottling.

Intense and deep ruby colour. Light, fresh, structured, pleasantly tannic-rich taste with a moderate residual sugar that ensures drinkability and a remarkable long finish. Fragrance of crispy red fruits, lively morello cherry, smells of toasted wood with cherries in alcohol as a final hint.

Beautiful wine from this underrated region
