Aromas of black cherry and plum lead into flavours of bright red cherry and raspberry, with a hint of mocha and toasty oak. The palate is medium bodied and balanced with silky tannins and a lingering red fruit finish.
Scheid Family Wines has farmed wine grapes in Monterey County, California since 1972. With 4,000 acres of sustainably-certified vineyards located along a 70-mile spread of the Salinas Valley and a state-of-the-art winery, Scheid Family Wines is fully-integrated to bring high quality estate grown wines to the marketplace.
At the winery, the fruit is carefully sorted then de-stemmed, crushed and fermented at warm temperatures in stainless steel fermenters. Gentle punch downs are performed several times a day. Once dry, the must is pressed into stainless steel tanks for settling, then racked prior to aging on both new and neutral French oak. The time on oak imparts nuanced notes of vanilla and toast.
