Tasting Note

This 100% Semillon is classic, un-oaked Australian style - candied lemons and limes, green pepper, bags of freshness with a little mineral saltiness and a touch of peach skin on the finish.

How to Drink

The steely finish makes this a perfect match for oysters or grilled prawns.

Producer Information

Karri Vineyard was created with the aim of producing high-quality Australian wines from Margaret River at outstanding value. The fruit is sourced from the renowned biodynamic vineyard of McHenry Hohnen in southern Margaret River, just a few hundred meters from the Indian Ocean. The coastal influence brings a distinct freshness and salinity to the wines.

The name "Karri" refers to the native Eucalyptus Diversicolor, which grows exclusively in this part of Western Australia. The vineyard is managed by viticulturist Mike Sleegers, a leading authority on biodynamic farming in the region. Using a VSP (vertical shoot positioning) trellis system, the vineyard employs organic and biodynamic methods such as composting with grape marc and cattle manure, alternating cover crops, planting legumes and grasses to improve soil health, and promoting biodiversity through natural pest control and the encouragement of native birds and bees.

Karri is a fully organic and biodynamic winery. They believe that holistically caring for all the nature in and around the vineyards improves their wine. Their wines highlight the fact that there is still value for money to be found in cool climate Australia if you seek it out carefully.

Production Information

The grapes are hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed, and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts. The wine sees no malolactic fermentation, filtration, or fining, preserving its purity and natural character.

Full of peach and zesty, zingy lime.
