Te Whare Ra (TWR) is one of Marlborough's oldest and most respected small producers, founded in 1979 in the Renwick sub-region and run since 2003 by husband-and-wife team Anna and Jason Flowerday on certified organic vineyards — still a rarity in Marlborough. "Toru" (Māori for "three") is their signature field blend, co-fermenting Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris together, a technique they've used since 2007 to knit the three varieties into one seamless wine.
Tasting Notes An aromatic, off-dry white with a perfumed nose of orange blossom, lychee and fresh ginger. The palate brings mango, citrus, red apple and a touch of spice, backed by the phenolic grip of Gewürztraminer, the acidity of Riesling and the textural weight of Pinot Gris. Concentrated yet fresh, with a long, flavourful finish.
