Atlante is a small, family-run estate on the volcanic slopes of Tenerife, farmed by Jesús González, whose family has grown grapes on the island for generations. This Listán Negro comes from a single vineyard called La Quinta at 400m altitude — the family's oldest parcel, with ungrafted vines over 150 years old, trained in the traditional braided cordón trenzado style. Grapes are trodden by foot in traditional lagares, fermented spontaneously, and the wine is aged for 12 months in used French oak.
Tasting Notes Bright and lively, with red cherry, wild herbs, smoke and volcanic earth on the nose. The palate is fresh and juicy, packed with red fruit, cracked black pepper and warm spice, underpinned by the mineral, saline character that comes through from Tenerife's volcanic soils. Light on its feet but full of character.
